Where Are the Detainees?

About 420,000 persons were detained in the last year.
This is an increase of 120,000 in 2009.
 
More than 32,000 detainees held each day in 286 facilities.
 
70% of detainees are held in prisons with criminals.
 
During the past 6 years over 100 detainees have died, 13 from suicides,
many from the lack of available health care.
 
10-13% of detainees are affirmative asylum seekers.
